Yolande Fowler-Wright

Sports Therapist

Qualifications and Experience

BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy

FIFA Medical Diploma

Whilst studying Sports Therapy at the University of Kent, Yolande worked with Maidstone RFC where she gained experience in the pitch side management of a wide range of injuries and how to rehabilitate them back to sport. She also worked with Charlton Athletic FC’s male first team during their pre-season testing in 2016. This lead to her being invited back to provide sports therapy at a charity reunion match for the legends of Charlton Athletic and then to stay on with the female teams.

Straight after graduating, she secured the position of lead sports therapist at Lymington Town FC where she is determined to help the team strive in performance and minimise injury rates.

Yolande has volunteered to provide sports massage at many international events such as the London marathon. She loves attending these events to meet new people and hear their inspiring stories.

Why did you become a Sports Therapist?

I know someone who injured them self during a football match, later to be diagnosed with a ruptured ACL (I did not even know what an ACL was at the time!). After going to scans with them, their surgery and follow-up appointments, I was intrigued and realised that I would love to work with injuries. Particularly the part of helping others get back on their feet doing what they love.
