QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
Mike qualified with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree from Plymouth University in 2014. Since then, Mike has worked in a number of specialised areas at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. He currently works full time within the musculoskeletal service at Bournemouth hospital, which includes orthopaedics. As part of this role, Mike has regular updates and training on the latest clinical evidence to continue his professional development.
He is a registered with the health and care professions council and chartered with the chartered society of physiotherapy.
Mikes passion is helping people to meet their goal no matter how big or small that may be. He believes that with the right advice and knowledge, those goals can be met. He is eager to help people understand their pain, no matter how complex it may feel. Mike believes that exercise in fundamental to living a healthy lifestyle, this sometimes needs support and this is where physiotherapy can be useful.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A PHYSIOTHERAPIST?
Mike has always had an interest in people and human anatomy. He wanted to work with people on a one to one basis, empowering them to live a life they desire. Physiotherapy ticked all the right boxes for him. It has allowed him to treat a range of people from elite athletes to people with chronic pain, through to hip and knee replacement rehab.
Mike feels he can offer something different, especially being partially sighted!
WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
Mike has always lived near the sea for a good reason. He loves being outside in the fresh air. Although you may find him in the gym, sprinting on a spin bike or lifting weights.
